Currently the nearest re-compression chamber is located at Semporna on the Sabah mainland, an 80 minute boat ride away. We strongly recommend that you have your own insurance to cover you for diving emergencies.
The dive boats have DAN oxygen and first aid kits, plus the resort has a 20 litre oxygen tank and first aid on site, and it is also available at Sipadan Island. One Divemaster is provided per speed boat.
For non-diving emergencies, there is a hospital 40 minutes away also at Semporna.

Mataking island has its own local police station and security guards are present in the resort 24 hours per day.
